- It is the second pillar of Al Islam
- It is the first deed for which one will be helped accountable on the Day of Judgement – if one’s prayer is good and acceptable, then he will have achieved success. But if it is incorrect and corrupted in some way, then one has achieved failure.
- It must be performed on time. Allah says in Surah Nina (4:103), “Verily, the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours.”
- We don’t have a choice as to when we perform our Salah. We can’t pray Fajr with Dhuhr, for example.
- Allah says in Surah Ma’un (4-5), “So woe to those performers of Salat (prayers) (eg. Hypocrites), who delay their Salat from their stated fixe times.”
- Another way to be neglectful of prayers is to pray in a hasty manner. In such a way that there are no calmness.
