Establishing the Prayer

  1. It is the second pillar of Al Islam
  2. It is the first deed for which one will be helped accountable on the Day of Judgement – if one’s prayer is good and acceptable, then he will have achieved success. But if it is incorrect and corrupted in some way, then one has achieved failure.
  3. It must be performed on time. Allah says in Surah Nina (4:103), “Verily, the prayer is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours.”
  4. We don’t have a choice as to when we perform our Salah. We can’t pray Fajr with Dhuhr, for example.
  5. Allah says in Surah Ma’un (4-5), “So woe to those performers of Salat (prayers) (eg. Hypocrites), who delay their Salat from their stated fixe times.”
  6. Another way to be neglectful of prayers is to pray in a hasty manner. In such a way that there are no calmness.
